Creating an art performance piece, especially those which are socially engaged is often perceived as a complex task: where to begin, what to start with, what should be placed on stage first? This question marks most beginnings in the performance process. This is precisely why we developed Boiler House method, which we see as one possible direction in creation: a structural model for beginning work on a performance grounded in the process of creation itself. Performance does not necessarily emerge from a pre-designed plan; rather, it draws inspiration from the physical, mental, and collective processes the performer undergoes.
